Biotechnology bridges the gap between several career paths including environmental/agriculture, Biology/medicine, Facility/devices(equipment) however this is not an exclusion of controlled growing or producing sustainble food products as well as pharmaceutical's, neutraceutical etc. We must be careful and use standardizations or codes to protect the way we produce our food and medicines in which these are global problems of safety to the general public and we as engineers have to share in the protection of the consumer or public use of physical facillities/equipment which should be tested regularly in the Health care or manufacturing facility to determine proper function and safety. Food production must also have a safety net in place to protect the general public especially since the product is needed and used regularly to sustain life, please visit http://www.NourishingThePlanet.org
